Emergency Oversight and Responsible Personnel

At Dominican, there are specific groups and personnel charged with emergency preparation and incident response. The following provides an overview of these groups and their role/function in this critical area:

The individuals identified below have oversight responsibilities for the University at all times. The President is typically always the designated person in charge — but if an incident occurs and the President is unavailable, one of the other Vice Presidents will assume the role of the SOC.

  • President
  • VP Academic Affairs
  • VP Finance & Administration
  • VP Student Affairs
  • VP Advancement & External Relations

In the event of an incident, the Cabinet will assemble and will provide guidance and assistance to the Senior Officer in charge:

  • VP Finance & Administration
  • VP Academic Affairs
  • VP Student Affairs
  • VP Advancement & External Relations
  • VP Enrollment Management
  • AVP Academic Affairs

During an incident, the following individuals will assemble and will be charged with the management of operations and coordination with essential personnel:

  • Senior Officer in Charge (SOC)
  • Leadership Team/Cabinet
  • Executive Director of Facilities Services
  • Senior Director of Communications
  • Director of Human Resources
  • Executive Director of Information Technology
  • Campus Security

The following functional areas are determined to be “essential personnel” necessary to manage incidents, protect the university, and/or maintain essential systems and will report to campus if instructed to do so. Center Managers and/or supervisors will notify the individuals within each area and provide them with further instruction:

  • Academic Affairs & Academic Deans
  • Athletics
  • Business Services Office
  • Events Management Office
  • Facilities Services
  • Food Services
  • Housing & Residence Life
  • Human Resources
  • Public Relations/Communications
  • Information Technology
  • Student Life

This list is not exhaustive. Other functional areas or personnel may be called to campus depending on the situation and the support needs required.
