Engaged Learning

A hallmark of a Dominican education is the belief that the most important aspect

of a quality education is the personal interaction between professor and student.

A program of engaged learning builds on this premise, incorporating active, collaborative learning in the classroom with enriching educational experiences beyond the physical classroom. These high-impact practices actively engage students in the learning process, enhancing their experience with the content making the interaction personal and memorable.

Engaged learning is an area of distinction for Dominican. Study Abroad, internships, Leadership, and Undergraduate Research programs all interwoven with Dominican’s distinctive programs and Service-Learning initiatives offering students a multitude of outlets to better understand themselves and the world around them.

Dominican’s unique strategic objective is to ensure all graduating bachelor’s students have at least three engaged learning experiences by the year 2015.
