Placement Assessment

For all incoming students, to place you in the classes that will contribute to success in your studies here at Dominican, the Academic Advising and Achievement Center administers placement assessments in Math, and Chemistry.

You may not be able to register for classes until you have taken your placement assessment/s.

All assessments are administered in a computer-based format and taken at home before attending a Penguin Business Day. For information about the assessments, please click the appropriate links on the left.

For questions regarding placement assessment, contact Kristen Coleman at [email protected] or 415.257.0153.

If you have a documented disability and need accommodations for your assessment(s), contact Kristen Coleman at [email protected] or 415.257.0153.

For Fall Term First-Year Undergraduate Day Students Only

To begin the process of placement assessment, you will receive an email and letter with information about how to access your assessment(s).

After your placement assessment(s), you will have an advising session to discuss your schedule and register for your Fall classes.

For Transfer Students Only

After your placement assessment(s), you will need to meet with your academic advisor. During your advising appointment, your advisor will discuss with you the online process of registering for your classes. This may be completed during your advising session but no later than 48 hours after the session.
