We look forward to welcoming Dr. Anthony Fauci, renowned doctor and public servant, to Dominican University of California for an evening celebrating the release of his memoir, On Call: A Doctor's Journey in Public Service.

Dr. Fauci’s role guiding our nation through the COVID pandemic earned him the trust of millions during one of the most terrifying periods in modern American history.  And it wasn’t the only global epidemic in which Dr. Fauci played a major role. His crucial leadership in researching HIV and bringing AIDS into a sympathetic public view, as well as navigating the Ebola, SARS, West Nile, and anthrax crises, make it easy to regard Dr. Fauci as an American hero.

His new memoir, On Call, reaches back to his boyhood in Brooklyn, New York and narrates through decades of caring for critically ill patients, navigating the whirlpools of Washington politics, and advising and negotiating with seven presidents on key issues ranging from global AIDS relief to infectious disease preparedness at home. On Call will be an inspiration to all who admire Dr. Fauci as the embodiment of a true public servant known for “speaking truth to power” with dignity and results.

Dr. Anthony Fauci served as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health from 1984 to 2022. He also served as the Chief Medical Advisor to President Joe Biden. He is currently a Distinguished University Professor at Georgetown University with a joint appointment in the School of Medicine and the McCourt School of Public Policy. He has received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the National Medal of Science, and the Mary Woodard Lasker Award for Public Service and has been awarded 62 honorary doctoral degrees, and is the author, coauthor, or editor of more than 1,400 scientific publications.
