Leadership Lecture Series Features Barbara Kingsolver, David Brooks

Pulitzer Prize winner Barbara Kingsolver and The New York Times opinion columnist David Brooks will appear in person at Dominican University of California as part of the fall 2023 Leadership Lecture Series, presented by Dominican in partnership with Book Passage. Kingsolver will appear in person in Angelico Concert Hall on October 13 at 7 p.m. Brooks will appear on November 17 at 7 p.m. Author James McBride kicked off the Fall 2023 series with a lecture at Dominican on September 10. The lecture series is hosted by Dominican’s Institute for Leadership Studies

Novelist, essayist, and poet Barbara Kingsolver will discuss Demon Copperhead, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for fiction. It was named one of the top 10 books of the year by The New York Times and The Washington Post and has spent over 27 weeks on The New York Times bestseller list. Tickets, which include a copy of Demon Copperhead, are $42. 

The New York Times op-ed columnist and author David Brooks returns to Dominican to talk about his latest book, How to Know a Person. Tickets, which include a copy of How to Know a Person, are $40. Brooks is one of the nation’s leading writers and commentators. He is an op-ed columnist for The New York Times, a writer for The Atlantic, and appears regularly on PBS Newshour. He is the bestselling author of The Second Mountain, The Road to Character, The Social Animal, Bobos in Paradise, and On Paradise Drive.
