In today’s organizations, teamwork can drive exceptional results—or derail success if not managed effectively. This one-day executive education program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of team dynamics. Through interactive activities, real-world case studies, and actionable strategies, participants will explore both the positive and negative aspects of teamwork and learn how to maximize team performance. 

Program Schedule

Morning Session: Unlocking the Power of Teams 

Discover the immense potential of well-functioning teams in achieving organizational goals. Participants will engage in the renowned "Desert Survival Situation" activity, an experiential exercise that highlights the value of collaboration, problem-solving, and leveraging diverse perspectives. This session will: 

  • Highlight the advantages of teamwork in driving innovation and achieving goals
  • Demonstrate the importance of synergy and collective intelligence
  • Provide tools for fostering productive team dynamics 
Afternoon Session: Overcoming Team Challenges 

While teams can be powerful, they are not without risks. This session delves into the darker side of teamwork, focusing on issues such as groupthink, conformity, and decision-making pitfalls. Using the compelling "Group Process in the Challenger Decision" case study from Harvard, participants will: 

  • Analyze how group dynamics contributed to the Challenger disaster
  • Identify warning signs of dysfunctional team behavior
  • Learn strategies to mitigate groupthink and encourage diverse viewpoints

  • Gain insights into the defining traits of effective teams and how to cultivate them within your organization.
  • Learn practical approaches to leveraging diverse perspectives and enhancing team collaboration.
  • Identify the factors that lead to groupthink and explore strategies to prevent it.

  • Alumni Discount: 30% discount ($600) for Dominican University of California degree program alumni.
