Dan brings over two decades of experience as a coach, coach developer, and a mental performance consultant to his role at Dominican. “Coach Dan” (@dannyhoops on Twitter) earned his Master’s degree in Sport Psychology from John F. Kennedy University, where he completed research on emotional regulation among high school basketball coaches and created a mental skills training curriculum for basketball players, entitled “Hoops Minded.”

Dan has since started a private practice of the same name (@hoopsminded on Instagram) and earned his Certified Mental Performance Consultant credential from the Association of Applied Sport Psychology. He has served as a Program Director in the Middle East with the non-profit organization PeacePlayers International and, prior to relocating in the Bay Area, Dan served as Director of Sport Programs at New York City's 92NY and worked in Community Relations with the New York Knicks. He lives in San Leandro with his wife and two children.
