Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI)

Welcome to OLLI

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is a community of adults, who believe in lifelong learning, engagement and exploration. While OLLI's not-for-credit courses and workshops are designed for adults 50 and older, there is no age limit on membership, so if you find our programs attractive, we encourage you to apply! Our courses cover a wide range of topics, including art history, film, history, politics and economics, literature and language, and science. There are no mandatory exams, assignment or grades. We invite you to continue your journey of lifelong learning through our courses, lectures, and clubs.

Spring 2026 is well under way, but there are two more courses starting in early May that are still available! They are Mick Chantler's Presidential Elections, 1960-1980, beginning Friday May 1 at 2 pm on Zoom, and Linda Shore's Searching for Planets in the Milky Way, beginning Monday, May 4, also on Zoom. "The State of the Union: Where do things stand?"

Saturday, June 6 from noon to 2 p.m.
Join OLLI members and Berkeley Professor Darren Zook for a lunch and lecture event at McInnis Golf Club. We will enjoy a delicious lunch as Darren delivers a lecture on the state of play in the political world. 

Standing at the midpoint of 2026, with an eye on the midterms coming in November, it seems a good idea to survey the state of American democracy to see how things are holding up (or not). We’ll do a systematic check-in with each of the branches of government, and also look at a few critical issues (such as foreign policy) along the way. We’ll even have a chance to look at California, with time for plenty of Q&A afterward.
