Laura Greiss Hess, PhD, OTR/L

Laura began her career as a special education teacher serving students with moderate/severe disabilities in 1992. She went on to earn her MS in occupational therapy (OT), comprehensive certification in sensory integration, certification in assistive technology applications and specialized in school-based OT practice for 17 years. Laura has also worked at the UC Davis MIND Institute for 12 years collaborating on research and clinical teams specializing in fragile X syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, learning/intellectual disabilities, and assistive technology applications. This work contributed to national and international conference presentations and publications. Laura joined the faculty at Dominican in 2015.

Research Interests

Laura's research interests and expertise include qualitative and mixed methods of research, school-based occupational therapy and interprofessional collaboration, neurodevelopmental disorders including fragile X syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, and assistive technology applications.
