Professional and Continuing Education

School of Education and Counseling Psychology is pleased to offer a variety of workshops for professionals seeking to enhance their career and life skills. We understand most of you are working adults and we tailor our instruction and program schedules to best accommodate your busy lives.
If you offer an educational event (course, seminar, workshop) and would like to offer participants extension credit for their participation, we welcome you to submit a Third Party Proposal.

Types of Credit
Courses offered through the School of Education and Counseling Psychology's Continuing Education and Professional Development Division will enable participants to earn non-academic credit in the form of Extension Semester Units (ESU) or Continuing Education Units (CEU). These credits are generally used by participants to satisfy certification or professional development requirements for salary advancement*.
Extension Semester Units—usually associated with courses taken to attain a form of certification. ESU are characterized by 15 hours of contact time per unit, and are associated with a degree of knowledge assessment and/or skills implementation.
Continuing Education Units—usually associated with courses taken for information and non-mandatory skill building. CEU are characterized by 10 hours of contact time per unit, and require a minimal amount of knowledge assessment and/or skill implementation.
Participants are advised to obtain prior employer approval for use in salary advancement.
