Dominican University of California seeks a Provost with a proven record as a visionary,
collaborative, and entrepreneurial academic leader in both undergraduate and graduate
contexts. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a school through a time of
significant evolution while prioritizing academic excellence.
Important challenges and opportunities await the next Provost of Dominican University
of California. As the University’s Chief Academic Officer, the Provost reports directly to
the President and serves with the Vice Presidents on the President’s Cabinet. The
Provost will join a senior administrative team with a number of new personnel in major
positions—including the President and a largely new slate of Deans—and will have the
opportunity to play a key role in refining as well as implementing the University’s
vision. This is a dynamic moment at Dominican, not signaling a dramatic change in
direction or a wholesale change in leadership but, rather, presenting the chance to build
on our recent success in student and faculty growth by focusing clearly on a next stage
that highlights academic quality and distinction. The new Provost will join an energized
and professional group of colleagues, eager to work with an intellectual leader who
inspires and supports them in working to combine the strengths of continuity and
innovation.
