The School of Business and Leadership (SBL) at Dominican University of California enhances the professional and personal development of students through highly personalized and engaged learning experiences. The Dean of the School of Business and Leadership reports to the Provost and serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the School. The new Dean will have the opportunity to shape the vision for the School at a moment of innovation across the University and to strengthen and develop the existing undergraduate and graduate Business and Leadership programs.
The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for all strategies geared towards raising renewable operational support below $10,000 for Dominican University of California. This position is responsible for the organization, initiation, implementation, and supervision of a comprehensive annual giving program focused on shaping a sustainable tradition of annual support for the University. The Director will institute annual giving best practices to grow Dominican’s efforts with a specific focus on increased revenue, participation, retention and average gift in comparison to the University’s peer institutions.
The Director of Gift Planning is a senior fundraising position which is responsible for the development, promotion and implementation for the University’s gift planning program. The Director secures major planned gifts (with a focus on six-and seven-figure gifts) to the University through the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and donor prospects; develops strategies and proposals to secure gifts.
The Director provides expert knowledge of specific planned giving vehicles; assists in marketing strategies and in closing large planned gifts. Conducts and manages periodic seminars for donors and prospects designed to provide information relative to planned gifts; designs, plans and executes special events for the benefit of Dominican University of California’s Heritage Society members. This position is the liaison for the University with estate planning professionals, including estate planning attorneys, financial planners, accountants, and other financial and legal advisors.
Dominican University of California is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the position of Assistant Vice President of Advancement to provide overall leadership and daily management of the major gifts, annual giving, corporations and foundations and advancement services for the university. The person in this position is a strong individual fundraiser and ambassador who must lead by example to establish an environment focused on building and maintaining strong, productive, and long-lasting relationships among the College's many constituents. The AVP's leadership is focused on building a highly effective, strategically focused, and fully integrated team of professionals who work collaboratively and across the division to increase funding, volunteer involvement, and constituency engagement.
Dominican University of California is excited to announce an opening for Director of Student Activities and Student Leadership and is seeking applicants who are able to work collaboratively with students and faculty/staff colleagues in the development and implementation of programs, activities, and events that supplement engaged student learning and provide for social interaction and memorable experiences. Dominican University of California is seeking a full-time (9.5 month), tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in the Department of Nursing, School of Health and Natural Sciences. This position commences in Spring 2014. The successful candidate's primary responsibilities include undergraduate teaching in the area of Medical-Surgical and Gerontological Nursing. Graduate level teaching is also possible depending on program needs. Tenure and promotion requirements for tenure-track faculty include teaching, scholarship, and service. Opportunities exist for research and teaching collaboration within the faculty of Health and Natural Sciences. The Department of Nursing, is CCNE accredited, and offers both a bachelor and master of science degree in Nursing. Nursing is comprised of a very diverse student body. More than 65% of the students are ethnically diverse and many are first-generation college educated.
