Staff Positions

Dominican University of California is seeking a seasoned, highly professional leader for a senior fundraising position as Director of Gift Planning. Reporting to the Vice President, this position is responsible for the engagement, cultivation and solicitation of planned gifts. This position manages Dominican University's overall gift planning program.  Additionally, the successful individual will be required to have substantial knowledge of charitable gift planning vehicles, a proven track record of gift solicitation experience and success, and the ability to strategically engage donors to incorporate Dominican University in their financial and estate plans.  

 

Dominican University of California is seeking a dynamic individual for an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor or Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions position. As part of an established and successful undergraduate recruitment team, this position will promote the value of a Dominican education and work to recruit, evaluate, and admit freshman and transfer students to the University to help meet recruitment goals. There are two positions available.

 

Dominican University of California is seeking a dynamic individual for an ILS Events and Conferences Director position. Supervised by the Executive Director of Dominican’s Institute for Leadership Studies, the ILS Events and Conferences Director will plan and manage all of production details of ILS lecture events and conferences, including event planning components of the executive education training workshops. Special events will include, but not be limited to, lectures, workshops, receptions, dinners, and special entertainment programs, executive education event set-up.  The position requires working various evenings, weekends and some early mornings.

Its mission is to help people become better leaders by advancing the study, teaching and practice of effective, ethical leadership in our world.  Through research and planning services, education and training, leadership practice and community programming and projects, the Institute seeks to facilitating positive organizational and societal change, engaged citizenship and socially responsible leadership.  

 

Dominican University of California is seeking a dynamic individual for an Administrative Coordinator, Faculty Development position. The Coordinator organizes programs and events to support excellence in teaching and the meaningful integration of high-impact practices with technology-mediated instruction. With guidance from the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, and in collaboration with the academic units, the Coordinator conducts research on specialists in technology-mediated instruction and organizes faculty development sessions for members of the Dominican faculty and the faculties of Dominican’s consortial partners. Faculty development sessions may involve guest speakers from outside the community, faculty/staff/student panels, seminars, webinars, workshops, or trainings that incorporate new technology and/or discuss best practices for technology-mediated instruction. The Coordinator cultivates advisory relationships with subject-matter experts who provide input or deliver training and professional development activities. (Part-time, 1-year limited contract with possibility for extension)

          Full-Time Faculty Positions

          Dominican University of California is seeking to fill a full-time (9 month), tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Nursing, School of Health and Natural Sciences. This position commences in Fall 2015.  The successful candidate's primary responsibilities will include undergraduate teaching in the area of Medical-Surgical Nursing.   Tenure and promotion requirements for tenure-track faculty include teaching, scholarship, and service. Opportunities exist for research and teaching collaboration within the School of Health and Natural Sciences.

           

          Dominican University of California is seeking to fill a full-time (9 month), tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Nursing, School of Health and Natural Sciences. This position commences in Fall 2015.  The successful candidate's primary responsibilities will include undergraduate teaching in the area of Psychiatric/ Behavioral Health Nursing.   Tenure and promotion requirements for tenure-track faculty include teaching, scholarship, and service. Opportunities exist for research and teaching collaboration within the School of Health and Natural Sciences.

           

          Dominican is seeking an entry level Assistant Professor, tenure-track, beginning Fall 2015. The successful candidate will teach a broad array of courses in literature, composition, and possibly creative writing. In addition to offering majors in both English and Creative Writing, the Department of Literature and Languages supports the University’s General Education program, Adult Degree Completion program, and the interdisciplinary M.A. in Humanities. Workload is 4/3.

           

          The Assistant professor is a full-time nine-month tenure track faculty appointment. Responsibilities include teaching courses for the special education credential program, including topics in assessment, behavior, autism, and early childhood. In addition, candidates for the position will supervise student teachers and intern teachers.

           

          Dominican University of California is looking for an imaginative, versatile, and enthusiastic Reference and Instruction librarian who loves teaching and has a deep commitment to helping students succeed.  We have a beautiful campus, supportive community, and diverse student population, with a special commitment to first generation and under-represented college students. This is a nine (9) month, non-tenured faculty position starting in August 2015. This position will work primarily with undergraduate students, providing reference assistance and teaching information literacy skills in our First Year Experience Program as well as for our bachelor’s degree programs. Occasional evening and weekend shifts are required. 

           

          Dominican University of California is seeking a dynamic individual for a new full-time, 9 month, tenure-track position to teach courses in Accounting. The candidate should have an earned doctoral degree (ABDs considered) and an active research agenda to maintain SA (formerly AQ) status as required for AACSB accreditation.  Responsibilities include teaching courses, mentoring students, and participating in service to the school and university. The Barowsky School of Business at Dominican University of California is where we enhance the professional and personal development of our students through highly personalized and engaged learning experiences. We currently offer an MBA program with concentrations in strategic leadership, global management, and sustainable enterprise.  At the undergraduate level, concentrations include accounting, finance, international business, management, and marketing.           Adjunct Faculty Positions

          The Occupational Therapy Department at Dominican University of California is seeking interested applicants for an ongoing recruitment for instructors to teach Occupational Therapy courses in all practice areas: pediatrics, physical disabilities, and mental health, undergraduate and graduate occupational therapy classes.


          Dominican University of California is seeking experienced, dynamic individuals to fill several adjunct faculty positions for its newly established Master’s Program in Clinical Laboratory Sciences (CLS). Instructors will be needed for the Summer 2014 through Spring 2015 semesters.

           

          Dominican University of California is seeking an experienced nurse in Maternity and Newborn Nursing with a minimum of a BSN to serve as a clinical faculty. This is an 8-10 hour commitment weekly every semester for 16 weeks overseeing the clinical development of 8 students in a labor and delivery nursing rotation. 

           

          Dominican University of California is seeking an experienced nurse in care of children and families with a minimum of a BSN to serve as a clinical faculty in Pediatrics. This is a 8-10 hour commitment weekly every semester for 16 weeks overseeing the clinical development of 8 students in a pediatric nursing rotation. 

           

          Dominican is seeking an experienced, dynamic individual to teach Forensic Psychology during the Spring 2015 academic term.  Wednesday 6:00-8:00 is the preferred time slot for this course.
