Safety and Security

Dominican University of California considers safety and security a top priority. Every effort is made to protect the health and welfare of every member of the campus community - students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Campus Security

Our campus is patrolled 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays, by Barbier Security Group (BSG).  The Campus Security cell phone number is (415) 269-6070.

Safety Tips

  • Awareness is the most critical factor in the personal safety equation. If your attention to surroundings is compromised by intoxication, fatigue, or preoccupation, you operate at a disadvantage and have a greater potential for being victimized.
  • Don’t walk alone at night and avoid short cuts or isolated areas.  Use the buddy system at parties or events.
  • Have your keys ready as you approach your car or residence.
  • If your intuition tells you that you are at risk, try to leave the situation quickly.
  • Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to report any suspicious activity or concerns to Campus Security.

Campus Security will escort any member of the campus community between buildings or from a building to a car at night. A pre-scheduled escort can be arranged by calling the security cell phone at (415) 269-6070.  Our campus community is strongly encouraged to use this service.

Emergency vs. Non-Emergency

Always dial 911 (9-911 from a campus phone) for all life-threatening or medical emergencies.  For all non-emergency needs, contact Campus Security 24/7 at (415) 269-6070.

Report Incidents

Report all incidents, such as thefts and injuries, to Campus Security.
