Roots Of Peace CEO Heidi Kühn Speaking In ILS Lecture Series

Heidi Kühn, Founder and CEO for Roots of Peace, will appear virtually in the Spring 2021 Leadership Lecture Series presented by Dominican University of California in partnership with Book Passage on Earth Day Thursday, April 22, at 6 p.m.

The lecture series is hosted by Dominican’s Institute for Leadership Studies and sponsored by Bank of Marin. To register, visit https://dominican.extendedsession.com/.

Kühn will discuss her memoir and call-to-action book Breaking Ground. It describes her quest to eradicate landmines from the face of the earth and firmly plant roots of peace. Tickets, which include a complimentary copy of the book, are $40.

Kühn will appear in conversation with Ambassador Kenneth Quinn, President Emeritus of The World Food Prize. In January 2020, he accompanied me on a Roots of Peace delegation to Quang Tri, Vietnam, to walk the former battlefields to detonate landmines in the most heavily mined province from The Vietnam War.

American political commentator Robert Reich and New York Times best-selling author Isabel Allende have already appeared in this spring's ILS lecture series. Actress Sharon Stone was added to the series, but her scheduled appearance on March 30 was postponed. A new date is being rescheduled.

Robert Reich, Wednesday, February 10, at 6 p.m. Reich, who served in the administrations of Presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton, discussed his book, The System: Who Rigged It, How We Fix It. Nearly 500 people signed up to watch and listen to his presentation, which was conducted in conversation with Bill Petrocelli, author, and co-owner of Book Passage.

Isabel Allende, Thursday, March 4, at 6 p.m. PST. Allende, considered the world’s most-read Spanish language author, talked about her novel The Soul of a Woman in conversation with  Alicia Garza, co-creator of #BlackLivesMatter and the Black Lives Matter Global Network.

Sharon Stone, rescheduled from Tuesday, March 30, at 7 p.m. PST to a TBD date. The actress, producer, and former fashion model will discuss her book The Beauty of Living Twice. Tickets, which include a complimentary copy of the book, are $40.
