This free, two-day virtual writing retreat will explore how to connect while writing across distances, languages, and experiences.

Our MFA student Allison Baldwin will lead a poetry workshop and recent MFA graduate (congratulations!) Cindy Pavlinac will lead a workshop on place-based writing. Writers Lise Saffran and Susana Praver-Perez will offer workshops highlighting narrative medicine. Marci Calabretta Cancio-Bello will offer a workshop open to adoptees called Deliberate Celebration. Susan Kelly Dewitt's workshop will focus on self-portraits. Poet Katie Peterson will give the keynote address. Bellevue Press, which specializes in writing at the intersection of arts and science, will present a panel with assistant editor Laura Hart and two of their recent authors. Maud Casey will read from her novel Incurable WomenLisa Olstein will read from her creative nonfiction Pain Studies. Dominican MFA writing mentors Thomas Burke and Claudia Morales will also be leading workshops.
