World Affairs Council spring lineup examines Cuba, Saudi Arabia, Brexit

Dominican continues its long-standing partnership with the World Affairs Council in presenting a series of lectures for spring 2017. The World Affairs Council offers a forum to share dialogue and discussion about topics that are timely and global in nature.

Lectures are held in Dominican’s Caleruega Dining Hall located at 100 Magnolia Avenue in San Rafael. All lectures begin with a reception at 6:30 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m., and the discussion at 7:50 p.m. Dominican students can attend the programs for free.

Here is list of upcoming dinner programs and guest speakers:

January 25: Cuban-American Relations, Professor Alex Saragoza, UC Berkeley.
February 22: Saudi Arabia, Professor James Russell, Naval Post-Graduate School.
March 22: New Models for Grassroots Development, Rajasvini Bhansali, Executive Director, Thousand Currents.
April 20: Implications of Brexit for the UK and Europe, Professor (Emeritus) Sheldon Rothblatt, UC Berkeley
May 18: Afghanistan: Perils of Combat Journalism, Tim McGirk, former Time Magazine Bureau Chief, UC Berkeley School of Journalism.
