Tilden Trio perform in 2016-17 Guest Concert Series finale

The popular Tilden Trio from Marin County returned to Angelico Concert Hall on March 19, to perform in the finale of the 16th season of the Guest Concert Series at Dominican University of California.

The Sunday concerts, sponsored by Dominican’s Department of Music, Dance, and Performing Arts, start at 3 p.m. in Angelico Concert Hall. Free parking is available in the nearby Conlan Center lot off Grand Avenue in San Rafael.

Founded in 2004, the Tilden Trio is comprised of Juilliard School classmates Sarn Oliver, who is first violinist for the San Francisco Symphony from Mill Valley, Peter Wyrick, Associate Principal Cellist for the San Francisco Symphony from Mill Valley, and pianist June Choi Oh of Corte Madera, who is chair of Dominican’s Music, Dance and Performing Arts department.  The Honolulu Music Examiner has described the Tilden Trio as “a mesmerizing display of great music making.”

At Dominican, the Tilden Trio performed Debussy Trio in G Major for Violin, Cello, and Piano, Martinu Duo for Violin and Cello No. 2 in D Major, Bach Chaconne from Partita No. 2 in D Minor and Chausson Trio for Violin, Cello, and Piano in G Minor, Op. 3.

All Guest Concert Series concerts are free to students under the age of 18 including middle school and elementary school children if accompanied and supervised by an adult. In addition, community college students with a valid I.D. and music and art teachers in grades K-12 will be admitted free of charge along with Dominican students, faculty, and staff with a valid I.D.

Subscription season tickets for the Guest Concert Series are $60 for general admission, $51 for seniors over 60. Single-event tickets, which are only available at the door 30 minutes prior to scheduled performances, are $20 for general admission and $17 for seniors over 60.
