Students to curate "Art of Mount Tamalpais" exhibit

Students in Leslie Ross’ art class at Dominican will curate an exhibit “The Art of Mount Tamalpais” by Kett Zegart and Katie Horacek beginning November 12 in the Alemany Library Reading Room at Dominican.

The Opening Reception is scheduled for Sunday, November 16, from 5-7 p.m. “The Art of Mount Tamalpais” will be on display through December 19 during normal library hours.

Zegart, a printmaker, has had a distinguished career as an artist, poet, and art teacher notably at Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley.  She has inspired many students to pursue their creative interests. This exhibit includes a number of her copper engravings featuring Mount Tamalpais from different angles and creative perspectives.

Horacek, a painter, specializes in realistic landscape scenes.  Her work is regularly featured in the annual Marinscapes shows.  She has created a number of small and larger oil paintings of Mount Tamalpais specifically for this current exhibition.
