Senator Bernie Sanders to speak at Dominican on December 2

Senator Bernie Sanders will speak in the Leadership Lecture Series at Dominican on Friday, December 2, at 7 p.m.

In July Senator Sanders, who is serving his second term in the U.S. Senate after winning re-election in 2012 with 71 percent of the vote, challenged Senator Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Party’s nominee for U.S. President. He is the longest serving independent member of Congress in American history.

Senator Sanders is coming to Dominican to discuss his new book, Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In. In Our Revolution, Sanders shares his personal experiences from the campaign trail, recounting the details of his primary campaign and the people who made it possible.

The speaker series, a cooperative effort between Dominican’s Institute for Leadership Studies and Book Passage, features some of the country's leading figures from the worlds of business, politics, entertainment, academia, and literature. The series has entertained and educated thousands of Marin County and San Francisco Bay Area residents.

All events are open to the public. Free parking is available on campus in the nearby Conlan Center parking lot at the intersection of Acacia and Grand Avenues in San Rafael.

The 2016 Leadership Fall Lecture Series is presented by Private Ocean, the oldest and largest privately held wealth management firm in Marin County. Private Ocean’s commitment to community service has been a driving force behind its support of the lecture series. Bank of Marin is a Gold Level sponsor. Redwood Credit Union is a Silver Level sponsor.
