Political Science club stages Voter Engagement Week on campus

The Dominican Political Science Association (DPSA) organized Voter Engagement Week, featuring a series of informative events on campus from September 26-29.

On September 26, in conjunction with the Democracy and Equity initiative at Dominican, DPSA hosted a Presidential Debate Viewing Party in the Student Union in Fanjeaux Hall. Free pizza, drinks and desserts was served and a discussion followed the debate.

On September 27, National Voter Registration Day, DPSA members were staged in front of Caleruega Dining Hall for a voter registration drive. Patriotic cupcakes were served.

On September 28, also in front of Caleruega Dining Hall, DPSA and Dominican History Club members discussed with their peers the evolution of voting rights and current voting laws. In addition, representatives of IGNITE examined and explained government representation and empowerment and how to reach political parity.

On September 29, DPSA examined how technology is impacting voting. The “Tech, Social Media, and Voting” presentation took place in front of Caleruega Dining Hall.
