PBS airs President Marcy at Commonwealth Club panel

President Marcy participated in a panel discussion at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco on April 29 on the topic, “What's the Value of a College Education?” Monica R. Martinez, Deeper Learning Senior Fellow for the Hewlett Foundation and Commissioner of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, served as moderator.

Other panelists included Richard Ekman, President of the Council of Independent Colleges; Alecia DeCoudreaux, President of Mills College; Claude Steele, Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost at the University of California Berkeley; and Mohammad Qayoumi, President of California State University San Jose.

The show aired on May 15 at 8 p.m. on KQED 88.5 FM in San Francisco. It then will be carried by more than 230 radio stations across the United States. The Commonwealth Club's weekly lecture series is the country's oldest continuously running radio program. A list of stations carrying the lecture series can be found here.
