LINES Ballet BFA in Dance students present annual Spring Showcase

The Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA in Dance program at Dominican staged its annual Spring Showcase April 21-22 in Angelico Concert Hall.

The event, which culminated the 10th anniversary season of the BFA in Dance program on campus, included farewell performances by Anica Bottom '17, Alessandra Ramnarine '17, and  Joel Walsham ’17, who arrived at Dominican in 2013 from his home in West Auckland, New Zealand.  He recently returned from an audition in Israel.

Joining Joel, Anica, and Alessandra and their fellow student dancers at the Spring Showcase were choreographers Gregory Dawson, David Harvey and Arturo Fernandez, plus alumnae choreographers Ivy Patterson ’15 and Allie Papazian '10. Papazian was a member of the BFA in Dance’s original cohort class. Also in that class was Katie Scherman, the first of three BFA in Dance students to earn a prestigious Princess Grace Foundation Award. Jeffrey Van Sciver ’13, now with the Alonzo King LINES Ballet, and Lani Dickinson ’17, a member of the AXIS Dance Company in Oakland, were the other PGF winners.
