Leadership Lecture Series Welcomes Al Gore

Former United States Vice President Al Gore spoke at Dominican on February 13 as part of the University’s 2013 Institute for Leadership Studies (ILS) Spring Leadership Lecture Series. The series is offered in partnership with Bay Area independent bookstore Book Passage. Gore, who last appeared in the ILS lecture series in 2009, addressed a capacity crowd in Angelico Hall.

Currently chairman of The Climate Realty Project and co-founder and chairman of Generation Investment Management, Gore is the author of Earth in the Balance, An Inconvenient Truth, The Assault on Reason, and Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis. He is the subject of an Oscar-winning documentary and is the co-recipient, with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for "informing the world of the dangers posed by climate change."

The speaker series is a cooperative effort between Dominican’s Institute for Leadership Studies and Book Passage. Each year, the Leadership Lecture Series features some of the country's leading figures from the world of business, politics, entertainment, academia, and literature. It has entertained and educated thousands of Marin County and San Francisco Bay Area residents. All lectures are open to the public.
