Foad Satterfield solo exhibit at Dominican opens Nov. 9

Berkeley artist Foad Satterfield, professor of Art at Dominican for the past 34 years, will present a solo exhibition of previously unseen works “Heart of the Matter: The Art of Foad Satterfield” from November 9 through December 15 in the San Marco Gallery in Alemany Library.

The Opening Reception and Artist's Talk for “Heart of the Matter” will be Sunday, November 16, from 5-7 p.m. in the library.

The exhibit is presented by Museum Studies in the Department of Art, Art History and Design at Dominican. Curators include Kymm Falls, Kenneth Fish, Lilly Fuhrman, Maggie Hibert, Andrew McCollum and Jocelyn Moreno.

In “Heart of the Matter,” Satterfield draws his inspiration from travels to the Yucatan Peninsula and Costa Rica as well as parks and urban landscapes from Yosemite to northern California's east bay. His works have been shown in Amsterdam, Paris and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
