CollegeDebate 16 hosts voter registration for Primary

In a campus and community effort to meet the May 23 deadline to register or re-register to be able to vote in California’s June 7 primary, College Debate 2016 organized a voter registration event May 2 on the Caleruega Dining Hall Plaza on the Dominican University of California campus.

Dominican students with laptops conducted online registration. Voters can still register either via or via (if a Dominican student, faculty or staff).

Remember: You need to re-register to vote when you move to a new permanent residence, you change your name, or you change your political party choice. California has specific rules related to party affiliation and the Presidential primary election. Please visit the California Secretary of State website for more information.

Named a Voter Education Partner for the Commission on Presidential Debates, Dominican is leading a first-of-its kind national initiative to use technology and social media to engage college students in the presidential election. College Debate 2016 will provide college students from throughout the United States a platform to discuss and debate the complex issues facing our country. The end result will be a memo to the moderators of the 2016 Presidential Debates containing detailed College Debate 2016 questions for the candidates.
