Dominican hosts "Women, Money, and Spirit" symposium

More than 180 people, including Dominican students, participated in “Women, Money, and Spirit,” a one-day symposium reflecting on the spiritual meaning of money in women’s lives held in Guzman Lecture Hall on February 7.

The event was co-sponsored by Dominican’s School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and Gender Studies’ program. There was no charge for admission for Dominican students with valid University I.D.

The convocation featured feminist-thought leaders in finance, culture, psychology, and religion. Dr. Kate Levinson, a psychotherapist in a private practice in San Rafael, was the organizer and one of 13 panelists who presented. The others were Kim Klein, Mayuri Onerheim, Deborah Price, Alejandra Siroka, Georgette Wong, Gwen Heistand, Barbara Sargent, Stacy Hassen, Sage La Pena, Nedra Ginwright, Eden Trenor and Sister Carla Kovack, a member of the leadership team of the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael and Associate Director of Campus Ministry at Dominican for 11 years.
