Dominican hosts online entrepreneurship summit

Dominican was selected to host the national kickoff event for the inaugural "1790 Project: Diversity, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Summit" on January 31 in Meadowlands Assembly Hall.

The 1790 Project live online simulcast included students from Brown University, Baldwin Wallace University, Boston University, Colby College,, Miami Dade College, Norwich University, Paul Quinn, Presidio Graduate School, RISD, SMU, UT Dallas, University of San Francisco, and the University of Virginia.

Dominican students, faculty, alumni and staff participated in the live simulcast and watched online presentations on the State of Innovation from Ben Davis, CEO, Phizzle; Sanjay Bonde, Founder/CEO, Bonde Ventures and Advisory Services; and Suz Sommersall, Founder, KiraKira. Laura Mandaro, USA Today's Technology Editor based in San Francisco, moderated.

The opening kickoff event was followed by i-Lab Virtual Workshops on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 1-3.

Participants had an opportunity to watch, listen, and chat with experts from companies such as Facebook, FitBit, SalesForce, Uber, Worldlife Fund, Wysh Me. and Y Commander.

The kickoff event and workshops were free.
