Dominican welcomes celebrity chef Mario Batali

Celebrity chef, media personality and restaurateur Mario Batali spoke at Dominican University of California’s Institute for Leadership Studies (ILS) Fall Lecture Series in partnership with Book Passage November 1.

The bestselling author and world renowned chef made his first appearance at Dominican to discuss his newest book America — Farm to Table: Simple, Delicious Recipes Celebrating Local Farmers. It celebrates American farmers, their high quality products, and their culture that's defined by hard work, integrity, and pride.

Batali has authored 10 cookbooks and owns 22 restaurants in the United States, Singapore and Hong Kong. He is co-host of ABC TV’s Daytime lifestyle series The Chew. He will appear in conversation at Dominican with Emmy award-winner Liam Mayclem, host and producer of KCBS Radio’s Foodie Chap segments and former KPIX 5 TV’s Eye on The Bay.

The speaker series, a cooperative effort between Dominican’s Institute for Leadership Studies and Book Passage, features some of the country's leading figures in the field of business, politics, entertainment, academia, and literature. The series has educated and entertained thousands of Marin County and San Francisco Bay Area residents.

All lectures are open to the public. Free parking is available on campus in the nearby Conlan Center parking lot at the intersection of Acacia and Grand avenues.
