Acting dean of Education and Counseling Psychology named

Dr. Robin Gayle, professor of psychology, has been named acting dean of Dominican University of California’s School of Education and Counseling Psychology.

Dr. Gayle has been a Dominican faculty member for more than 20 years, serving previously as chair of the Department of Counseling Psychology, chair of the Faculty Forum, chair of the Faculty Affairs Committee, and director of Fieldwork Placement for the Department of Counseling Psychology in the School of Education and Counseling Psychology.

She is a contributing author of On Becoming a Psychotherapist: The Personal and Professional Journey (Oxford University Press, 2011). Dr. Gayle has published widely in the areas of group process, professional mentoring, guided imagery, and pastoral counseling. She also leads retreats and seminars in mindfulness and East West psychology for local and international non-profit organizations.

Dr. Gayle earned her Ph.D. in East West Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and her M.Div. from the Pacific School of Religion, a member institution of the Graduate Theological Union.
