Yan Jin, PhD
Yan obtained her PhD in management (accounting) from Wilfrid Laurier University (AACSB-accredited) in 2016. She joined Dominican in 2015 and has taught thirteen different courses in accounting and finance, including Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Taxation, Auditing, International Accounting, and Corporate Finance. Prior to her academic career, Yan worked as a financial analyst for Canadian government and utility companies while earning her CPA (Ontario) designation in 2003.
Yan’s research interests mainly focus on earnings forecasts, capital markets, IFRS adoption, and taxation. She has published three articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented eight papers at accounting refereed conferences (one of them received the best student paper award).
