How To Apply

Six steps on what you need to do to apply to Dominican.

1. Complete your application

For spring and fall 2020 you can now choose to apply via the Common Application or through our Dominican Application. Both applications are free and ask for similar information. You only need to choose one.

2. Personal Essay

Submit your personal essay on the application. Nursing and Health Science majors are required to answer an additional essay question on the application. Visit our FAQ page to view the essay topics.

3. High School Transcripts

Submit official high school transcripts for grades 9-11.

4. Letter of Recommendation

You may include one recommendation from school faculty, administrator, and/or a counselor. A Letter of Recommendation is only required for Nursing majors. Applicants who have been out of school for more than two years may submit a letter of recommendation from a professional colleague.

5. Test Optional Information

As an incoming first-year student, you may choose whether you want to have standardized test scores reviewed as part of your application. Exceptions to the test-optional policy include students applying to major in nursing, home schooled students, and international students who need to demonstrate English proficiency. Learn more about our Test Optional Policy.

6. Check your application status

Once you've submitted your online application, you may check the status of your application by logging into the application portal. You will receive an email with instructions shortly after submitting your application. Contact your admissions counselor if you have any questions.
