How to Apply

Please visit the deadline page for information on rolling admission and deposit deadlines. All application documents become the property of Dominican University of California and will not be returned. Documents will be maintained by the Office of Admissions for two years if the student does not matriculate for the term to which they apply.

1. Complete an online application

We accept the new transfer application through the Common Application. This application is redesigned specifically for transfer students, making it easier and more efficient to apply.

2. Official Transcripts

Be sure to include all post-secondary institutions that you have attended. If you are currently enrolled in classes, you may submit an unofficial transcript when you apply. Once you have completed your courses, you will need to submit an official transcript.

You do not need to send in your high school transcripts. On the application, indicate the name of the high school you attended and the year of graduation.

3. Letter of Recommendation

You may submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or professional colleague. A Letter of Recommendation is only required for Nursing majors.

4. Essay

Submit your personal essay on the application. Visit our FAQ page to view the essay topics.

5. Test Scores

Submitting test scores is optional. If you have AP Exam scores that you would like to be considered for college credit, you can submit them through collegeboard.com

6. Prerequisites

Our Nursing and Pre-Occupational Therapy programs have prerequisites. For Nursing, consult the major page. For Pre-Occupational Therapy, contact Diane Griffeath at diane.griffeath@dominican.edu.

7. Check your application status

Once you've submitted your online application, you can check the status of your application by logging into the application portal here. You will receive an email with instructions shortly after submitting your application. If you have any questions, contact your admissions counselor
