Outside Scholarships

Scholarships may come from outside organizations such as non-profit groups or community foundations. The Office of Financial Aid has resources listed on this page to help students in their search along with some scholarships from local organizations.

Avoid Scams

Be mindful that not all scholarship offers are legitimate. Watch out for the following warning signs:

  • You have to pay a fee.
  • Money-back offers or guarantees.
  • Credit card or bank account information required.
  • Provides "exclusive" information.

These may come in the form of scholarship matching services, advance fee-loan scams, or sales pitches disguised as "financial aid seminars." For more information on how to avoid scholarship scams please visit College Board's How to Spot Scholarship Scams guide.
