Downtown Streets Team

The Downtown Streets Team offers a work experience program to about 28 homeless and low income individuals in the community of San Rafael. Once our folks join the team, they assist us in local beautification projects and after hours work on their specific goals to better access community resources, housing and permanent employment. Students will support the members of our team who are ready to build resumes and apply for jobs. They will be learning about how to enter the work world and become an employee

Marin AIDS Project

Students are needed as one on one companions, for group support, care-taking, presentations, translation, rides, tutoring, needle exchange and administrative help, such as reception, data base management, graphics, events and computer salvage and donation.

Populations Served: Marin residents living with AIDS.
Services Provided: Assistance and referrals for AIDS patients, including companionship, computer assistance, transportation, meals, outreach, education and needle exchange.

Asian American Alliance of Marin

In collaboration with Dominican University the Asian American Alliance of Marin works to engage and enrich the Asian communities and people of Marin. The Alliance is a network of Asian Pacific Americans, organizations, and interested individuals. Our mission is to promote justice, equality, tolerance, human rights, and understanding in our communities.These two opportunities build bridges and restores and honors the contributions and history of the local Asian American communities.

College of Marin Adaptive PE/Yoga

A fitness program for all ages, based on exercising, stretching, yoga, swimming, body work and weight lifting, developed in accordance with each person's physical limitations and a physician's recommendation. Emphasis is on physical fitness, body tone and coordination.
