Software Licensing

If faculty or staff are interested in acquiring any software for installation on university computers, or for access online via cloud services, all software purchases must be ordered through the Information & Technology Services (ITS) department. ITS personnel are always available to discuss software needs and expectations and assist in this process.

To request software, please email your request to helpdesk@dominican.edu. ITS will check to see if the university already owns licenses for this software, and will also research and make recommendations regarding the process for acquiring new software.

All faculty and staff should be aware that all one time or recurring costs (license fee, maintenance fee and support fees) associated with the software that is used by a specific person or department is purchased at the expense of the department, but ITS retains all license and install information on behalf of the university.

Any software requested to be installed in a computer lab must be first discussed with ITS personnel. There are a number of issues to consider before software will be installed in a computer lab. Planning for computer lab software installation need to occur a semester prior to the software's intended use to insure a smooth transition for faculty, staff, students and ITS support.
