RIP Software

This is the technical documentation for using software with the large format printer. Audience: Authorized operators of the large format printer.

Using the ColorBurst Rip to Print

  • Add a file to the print queue by clicking on the folder icon near the top of the window. Note that when importing images the window can display the type of files that are accessible to the RIP.
  • Select the paper setting in the dropdown near the top left of the window. This will autoload the appropriate settings for printing to that type of media.
  • You should not need to adjust color settings.
  • If for some reason you need to adjust print settings, they are located in the icons in the upper right of the window. This is not advised since all color correction should be made to the specific file that is being printed (IE in Photoshop) and not in the RIP itself.
  • Double click on the file and preview your output dimensions. Files should be built with the appropriate dimensions before being added to the RIP, so you shouldn't have to adjust these. Warning: If you enlarge a print job here, you may lose print quality.
  • When the RIP is toggled to ON, the print jobs in the queue will be output to the printer. You should also be able to double click a file once it's added to the RIP through the folder icon and then hit "Print" in the dialog box that appears.
  • See images below for details.
