Use of University Name, Seals and Logos

The purpose of this policy is to define the acceptable uses of the Dominican University of California name, seal and logos.

The name, seal and logos of Dominican are the official emblems and registered trademarks of the University and may only be used for official University purposes.

The University seal is reserved for use by the President’s Office and is to appear only on official documents and other communications at the discretion of the president.

The University logo, along with its accepted variations, is the primary graphic mark for the University. It is designed to promote the visual identity of Dominican and is to be used on all printed and electronic materials representing the University.

Currently, there are eight companion Logos that are utilized by each of the University’s four schools and institutes or centers.

No logos may be created for academic programs. Any currently existing will be phased out by July 1, 2014.

Questions regarding the use of University logos should be addressed to the Marketing Department.
