Dr. Leslie Ross photo

Leslie Ross, Chair of Art History, will present "The Cultivated Life: Gardens as Symbol and Reality," on April 28 from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the Mill Valley Public Library's Creekside Room. The lecture is free and open to all. This illustrated talk will examine the history of garden and landscape design from ancient to modern times and explore the many ways in which human cultivation and manipulation of the natural world can be seen as indicative of social, political, and religious values and concerns.
