Quality programs in Teacher Preparation since 1924

"The Department of Education at Dominican has a strong tradition of preparing knowledgeable, passionate, and innovative teachers. Faculty, staff, teacher candidates, and alumni all strive to raise every student to their highest potential, and to play an active role in systems of education locally, statewide, nationally, and across the globe." - Elizabeth Truesdell, Ph.D., Chair, Department of Education

Undergraduate Degree Programs

We offer a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Education Studies and preparation for multiple teaching credentials, as well as a Minor in Education Studies. A BA in Education Studies from Dominican University is approved by the CTC as an Elementary Subject Matter Program; therefore, students who complete the major are waived from the required CSETs.

Graduate Degree Programs

The Master of Science (MS) degree can be earned in combination with a preliminary credential or as an independent program of study. These programs are designed for educators and other professionals who are interested in teaching and seek preparation for leadership roles and responsibilities.
