MS in Education: Teacher Leadership

The Master of Science in Education, Teacher Leadership 30-unit program is ideal for working professionals who are interested in advanced studies in education. The MS degree culminates with either a thesis or directed research project approved by their adviser, which is presented at the end of the program to faculty and students. All candidates in the Teacher Leadership shall have valid credentials in the State of California.

Recent Dominican Credential Completers

All credential completers who have earned their preliminary credential recommendation with Dominican within the past 5 years may continue with the 15 units of masters coursework.

  • DUoC graduate credential coursework: 15 units previously awarded
  • MS degree coursework: 15 units

Total units for MS in Education: Teacher Leadership is 15 units of credential coursework plus 15 units of masters degree coursework = 30 units

Dominican may accept up to 6 additional qualified graduate transfer units toward the 30 unit degree requirement. For the purpose of this agreement, qualified transfer units are broadly defined as graduate units earned at another institution that focus primarily on education/teacher preparation.

  • Total units for MS in Education: Teacher Leadership is 18 units of master's degree core coursework plus 12 units of master's degree elective coursework = 30 units
  • Total units for MS in Education: Teacher Leadership is 18 units of master's degree core coursework plus 6 transfer units of masters degree coursework and 6 units of master's degree elective coursework = 30 unit
