Dimitrios Camacho ’19 presented “Optimization of RT-qPCR Methods to Quantify Female and Male Plasmodium falciparum Gametocytes” at the International Summer Training Research Symposium on Oct. 19 at UC Berkeley. Dimitrios spent 10 weeks in Blantyre, Malawi, studying malaria transmission with a group of investigators from Michigan State University. He was funded by a Minority Health International Research Trainee fellowship from the National Institute of Health.
