In 2017, John Ramos joined the Dominican University team as an assistant professor in the Department of Health Sciences.

John received a bachelor of science degree in dietetics from California State University Sacramento and master of medical science degree in physician assistant studies from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. John received additional training in emergency medicine and ultrasound through the University of California San Francisco Fresno Medical Education program at Community Regional Medical Center, Central California’s only Level 1 trauma center. Throughout his academic career, John has actively participated in research related to eating disorders in male athletes, prehospital emergency care for patients with stroke and trauma, and healthcare/education quality improvement. Previous teaching experience includes general chemistry, human anatomy and physiology, and clinical medicine courses. Currently, John is the Student Member at Large on the Physician Assistant Education Association board of directors and chair of the Future Educator Development Steering Committee, where he has functioned in the development and facilitation of PAEA’s Future Educator Fellowship.
