Program Details

We offer an evening and weekend program with courses from 4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. -10:00 p.m. on weekdays, and occasional all day weekend seminars.
  • Our courses meet once a week for 15 weeks in the semester, or once or twice a semester on a weekend
  • Summer courses include only the Practicum Seminar
  • A usual course load is 6-12 units comprised of two to four 3-unit courses or some combination of 3 unit courses with 1 or 2 unit weekend courses
  • Usual timeline to degree completion is 2.5 - 3.5 years
  • We offer each class every semester and our program provides everything you need to become MFT and/or PCC licensed
  • Small class sizes (averaging 15-18 participants) 
  • Program includes 3 Fieldwork Practicums with a database of approximately 50 fieldwork placements to choose from. We also host a Fieldwork Fair each spring where placements and prospective trainees meet and information interview
  • Each student is advised to receive 45 hours of personal psychotherapy over the course of the program
  • There is an opportunity to submit research to Dominican Scholar an online repository where the university showcases collective scholarly  works of faculty, staff and students, and an opportunity to participate in the Dominican Scholarly and Creative Works Conference
