Fieldwork provides an opportunity to utilize your newly acquired skills, build clinical experience with on-site supervision expand your understanding of cases with consultation provided in the fieldwork seminar. Dominican Counseling Psychology students are known within the community for the depth and breadth of their academic and professional training.

Fieldwork: An Integral Part of Your Training

Our trainees are highly respected within fieldwork placements throughout the greater Bay Area for their level of preparation and knowledge.

Fieldwork placement and 3 semesters of fieldwork practicum focus on the application, development, refinement of assessment, counseling, consultation, case management, and client-centered advocacy skills.

  • our Practicum Director works with over 50 community agencies to place 100% of our trainees in fieldwork settings
  • fieldwork info sessions orient students to their required clinical fieldwork
  • exclusive annual fieldwork fairs allow agencies to network with Dominican CP prospective trainees
  • trainees have access to an extensive fieldwork database exclusive to our program updated frequently based on student feedback
  • Practicum Seminars focus on applying evidence-based treatments in working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families from culturally and socio-economically diverse populations
