Frida Ceja
“What stood out to me about Dominican's biology program were the opportunities offered here that are difficult to find at any other university such as research methodology and the Kaiser Pre-Med Mentor Program. Because of these experiences, I am confident that my undergraduate program at Dominican has prepared me for my future plans after graduation, whether it be medical school or other science-related fields."

—Frida Ceja -- BS Biological Sciences, General Biology Emphasis. Class of 2017

Students may choose among four curricular emphases in the Biological Sciences: Integrative Biology, Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Molecular Cell Biology, and Organismal Biology, leading to either a BA or BS.  The program also offers courses designed to fulfill General Education requirements and prerequisites for majors and minors in other programs.

Additionally, students have the opportunity to participate in active research projects, thereby gaining valuable hands on experience in research methodology, problem solving, and intellectual discovery. The department provides internships in career related areas to further engage students in the active learning process.
