New Students

You're on your way! You’re embarking on an adventure of a lifetime and we are prepared to make every step of your experience as memorable as possible. In the past few years, students from over 30 countries including Brazil, China, Ireland, Japan, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey have studied and earned degrees at Dominican. As a result, we have experience guiding international students through their entire university experience.

The following series events have been prepared to welcome you when you arrive to campus.

International Students Orientation

Upon your arrival you will attend an orientation session that will help you get familiar with the school and its surroundings. Experienced faculty, staff, and student leaders will be at hand to facilitate your settling in. You will also learn how to register for classes, receive academic advising, adjust to living in the United States and much more.

International Students Celebration

At the beginning of each semester, we will organize a gathering and invite all international students, current and incoming. The idea is to give international students a chance to meet each other as well as their professors in a fun and relaxing environment.

Global Ambassadors Program

Through the Global Ambassadors program, developed in 2003 by the Institute for Leadership Studies and the Dominican's Office of Admissions, Dominican international students act as ambassadors for their countries and cultures during organized visits to elementary and secondary schools in Marin County. They give presentations on different themes related to their countries of origin.

Global Ambassadors also organize monthly round tables at Dominican and present their international perspectives to Dominican students, faculty and staff.
