Saying,  “It’s our way of showing them that we are interested in better understanding how and why their society functions the way it does.” In order to make the most of her time in Taiwan Haja decided to live off campus in a neighborhood a bus ride from school, went on multiple adventures with both local and exchange students to Taiwanese hotspots.
