Science Center

The state-of-the-art Joseph R. Fink Science Center, named after Dominican’s former president, is a two-story, 35,000 square foot building, that is home to more than 30 classrooms and labs. During the design phase, special attention was paid to the building's details in order to assure a harmonious addition to Dominican's campus. Influences include Alemany Library's copper roof and Guzman Hall's deep, recessed windows. Outside, the entry plaza is linked via a footpath to the plaza outside Alemany Library. The Science Center serves students from all disciplines and helps in training students for careers in medicine and science. Faculty and students work together on research projects such as malaria, breast cancer, sudden oak death, alcohol addiction, and biofuels.
