Deadline: Penguin Press is distributed on Fridays. Please submit all items by 10 a.m. on Thursday.
The Penguin Press is administered by the News Office. We welcome content from community contributors. We also welcome story ideas and links to photos and videos. All faculty and staff may submit items for consideration. If you are submitting an item for yourself or on behalf of others, all individuals must be identified with: full name; title or status (e.g. “associate professor” or “undergraduate student”); and all department and program affiliations.
Faculty News: Please send information about your awards, honors, publications, presentations, performances, and exhibits. Please feel free to send links to news articles, columns or blogs that either mention you or that you have written. For books, please include a link to an image of the book’s cover. For awards, please forward the complete original citation or link to the awarding body’s online announcement.
Staff News: Penguin Press will feature awards and honors garnered by staff. These can be internal or external awards. Please provide the staff member’s full name and title. If you have photos, please send them in digital format only.
Student News: Penguin Press will cover awards and honors earned by our undergraduate and graduate students. These can be internal or external awards. Please ensure that you have the student’s permission to publicize his/her achievement. Provide the student’s full name and major/s. If you have photos, please send them in digital format only.
Alumni News: Please feel free to send links to news articles, columns, or blogs that cover alumni news.Alumni news should include the person’s full name, reason for being honored or acknowledged, degree earned, year of graduation, current city and state, and job title. Please include a photo or a link to an online photo
Events: Penguin Press lists events that are organized by, sponsored by, or co-sponsored by Dominican entities, including schools, departments, offices, or officially sanctioned student organizations. We do not publish information submitted by outside organizations that are not affiliated with Dominican.
University Announcements: Official announcements will be submitted by the Office of the President, the Office of the Provost and other University academic and operational departments. New Appointments: Announcements will be submitted by Human Resources.
The News Office reserves the right to approve, reject, edit or remove all submitted messages for length, style and appropriateness.
