U.S. News & World Report Ranks Dominican University of California as a Top School in the West
Once again U.S. News & World Report has ranked Dominican University of California among the top schools in the West.
The 2006 edition of America's Best Colleges, which appeared on newsstands Friday, August 19, 2005, lists Dominican in the Top Tier of Master's Universities in the West. This is the third time in four years that the University has been honored by the top tier ranking in the master's category.
The magazine compared Dominican to similar comprehensive universities that offer a range of undergraduate programs and master's degrees. The Western region includes colleges and universities from Colorado to the West Coast, including Texas.
"Although rankings are only one indication of quality, we are happy to be recognized," said President Joseph R. Fink. "The rankings cover just about the entire spectrum of the university community, and all of us at Dominican contribute to this assessment of our University."
Many factors are involved in the rankings: retention and graduate rate, percentage of classes under 20, SAT/ACT scores, alumni giving, and peer assessment are a few.
