School of Business and Leadership Gains AAPBS Membership

Dominican’s School of Business and Leadership has been accepted to membership in the Association of Asia Pacific Business Schools (AAPBS), the leading association of business schools in the Asia Pacific region. The School of Business and Leadership is only the second American business school to have been accepted for AAPBS membership. The other school is the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business.

AAPBS is the leading association of schools of business in the Asia-Pacific region, established to advance the quality of business and management education by collaborating in research and teaching.

The AAPBS Council, which consists of the deans of the top 20 business schools in the Asia Pacific, headed by China’s Tsinghua University, unanimously approved Dominican’s membership. The College of Management at Thailand’s Mahidol University served as Dominican’s institutional sponsor and mentor.

“Our membership provides us a direct, formal linkage with the best business schools in the Asia Pacific region, including Australia-New Zealand and the Indian subcontinent,” said Dr. Luis Calingo, dean of Dominican’s School of Business and Leadership.

“This affiliation will enable us to further advance our internationalization strategy, specifically by expanding our potential study-abroad destinations and base for recruiting international students,” he added.

AAPBS has 115 member-schools and two institutional members. Its two institutional members are the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB) and the European Foundation for Management Development.
